Danielle de Picciotto and Sonae are represented on Monika Enterprise as solo artists and belong to the label collective Monika Werkstatt. Whilst performing together they were delighted to hear how well their improvisations worked together so just out of fun they arranged a few joint studio sessions in Berlin; the album Leise Fäden is the result.
Leise Fäden (Quiet Threads) is a poetic essay in 8 parts, a tender dissection of our present world. De Picciotto and Sonae layer electronic soundscapes, freely improvised string instruments, fragmentary word art, and pulse-like beats, interweaving them to abstraction and re-arranging them back into track structures just before they are about to float out the door.

American musician Danielle de Picciotto has been living in Berlin since 1987, founded the Love Parade with Dr Motte in 1989, the Ocean Club with Gudrun Gut in 1995, and has been collaborating with Alexander Hacke of Einstürzende Neubauten since 2001. DJ and electronics producer Sonae lives in Cologne and has just finished her master exams at the Institute for Popular Music of the Folkwang University of the Arts. Resident Advisor describes her music as "Forest Techno", Groove declared her debut album in 2015 as "the most wonderful flicker electronics of the season"
